Whose music is it anyway?

It may surprise many to learn that the UK is one of the few countries where it is still illegal for a person to copy a CD they own for personal use on to an MP3 player.

The government is now looking to change the law, in the face of opposition from organisations like the Association of Independent Music (AIM). However, Lord Triesman, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Intellectual Property and Quality, said: "In an increasingly digital world, we need to be sure that our copyright system keeps up with the times and works effectively."
