In recent years, there has been a backlash against banking institutions in respect of the mis-selling of financial products, both to corporate entities and individuals. This has led to many complex financial products being successfully challenged in the Courts, to include products known as interest rate swaps.

Such products were particularly in vogue during the period of 2005 to 2008 and banks often forced their clients into these arrangements even when they were completely unsuitable. If you were sold such a product you could have a substantial claim for damages.
