Neurological Injury

Some of the most devastating clinical negligence claims are those involving neurological injury to the brain or spine.

We have an established track record in establishing claims for cerebral palsy arising out of birth injury.

We have dealt with complex claims for cerebral palsy and brain injury as a consequence of negligence in cardiac surgery, and in particular successfully recovered compensation in cases arising out of surgery at the Bristol Royal Infirmary, including a settlement of £5.4 million in one case.

Because surgery, particularly brain and spinal surgery, carry associated risks of neurological injury, these cases often involve particularly complex issues of causation.

Neurological injury can also occur as a result of avoidable delays in diagnosis of conditions such as encephalitis.

We draw upon our experience in from personal injury as well as clinical negligence claims in maximising prospects of success and ensuring that all relevant factors are taken into account in awards and settlements for head injury and spinal injury.
