Head of the firm's Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Department specialising in a range of personal injury cases but with particular emphasis on catastrophic injury with a particular interest in spinal cord injury, brain injury and amputation cases.
High profile cases include Biesheuvel –v- Birrell in which he acted for a tetraplegic Claimant who was awarded damages of £9.3 million at trial and claims following paediatric cardiac surgery at the Bristol Royal Infirmary (subject of the 'Bristol Heart Baby' Inquiry).
Amongst other cases he also acted for the Claimants in the cases of Dashiell –v- Luttit (1999) – damages of £5.25 million, Penny –v- Southern Derbyshire Health Authority (2000) – damages of £3.5 million, S –v- United Bristol Healthcare NHS Trust (2003) – damages of £5.4 million, Parry –v- Humbert (2005) – damages of £3.6 million, re L (2005) – damages of £1.7 million and Kaur –v- Brar (2006) – damages of £2.1 million.
